Description | We take privacy seriously. We do not distribute or sell any data from the site without the prior written and documented consent of the relevant members. Members have control over who can see their profile and content. Members can also download or purge/anonymise their data from their profile in accordance with the GDPR. We do not run closed-source software or software-as-a-service to run our site. We run free and open source software (Composr CMS). This means we, the members of Midwest Nudists, have full control over all of our data and over all of the software code. We know exactly how the software works and what it does. And we don't have to worry about surprises (such as unsolicited data collection or transmission). We even go a step further by making the full source code of our website publicly available so members have that piece of mind as well (and can even contribute to the development or find bugs if they want). Finally, one of the founders of Midwest Nudists (Patrick Schmalstig) is a lead developer for Composr CMS and thus intimately knows how the software works. Most member-submitted content cannot be seen by guests and requires logging in to the site to view. Members can also control who sees their content by usergroups or by members. We have hotlinking protection on our site to help deter other sites from linking to and using multimedia (especially images) submitted on Midwest Nudists. Furthermore, we place a Midwest Nudists watermark on all images submitted to further deter others from downloading and re-using them. We do our best not to rely on third-party entities or companies unless absolutely necessary, and we go with the lowest risk ones. Every third-party company utilized increases the chance we have to make decisions we do not want to make to meet their policies (such as increased censorship), and it also increases the risk of member data being sold or used. That is one reason why we do not serve ads other than ones submitted from site members. And that is why we use the Composr CMS software to run the website (it is Free and Open Source, and they strongly support autonomous and decentralized principles). Furthermore, the site itself is operated by experienced members of the nudist community. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information. |
